SR

Siti Rahayu

Café owner, Kota Kinabalu

I came in having not really talked to anyone about my business in years. It was not a dramatic session — just a calm hour of going through what my days actually look like. The notes Farizah sent afterwards were surprisingly useful. I had said things out loud I had not realised were bothering me. It helped.

Electrical contractor, Tuaran

Danial spent time actually understanding how my business runs before suggesting anything. I appreciated that. The Routine Wellbeing Review was useful — not all of the ideas suited me, but two of them I have kept. I am less frantic about quoting and scheduling than I was before we spoke.

We have been working together for eight months now under the Sustained Companion programme. I was sceptical about committing to a year but I am glad I did. There is something genuinely different about having a regular conversation with someone who is paying attention to your business across time rather than dipping in occasionally.

Hardware retailer, Keningau

I had expected the Balance Review to be a bit like a performance review. It was not like that at all. Farizah asked about my week, how I usually start the day, what I find draining. By the end I had a clearer view of one thing I could change without much disruption. Small but it has made a difference.

Pet grooming business, Kota Kinabalu

The five-week programme worked well for me. I liked that there was time between the two sessions to actually try things. Coming back with what had and had not worked made the second session much more useful than if we had just met twice in a row. I would do it again.

Norzaharah Ahmad

Bookkeeping services, Kota Belud

I was initially put off by the twelve-month commitment but Danial was honest: you can leave with reasonable notice if it is not working. That helped. We are now nine months in and I genuinely look forward to our monthly sessions. It is the only time I talk about the business with someone who knows its history.

Case Studies

A closer look at a few client journeys

Case Study 01 — Retail

Challenge

A sole-trader running a small homeware shop in Kota Kinabalu had reached a point where she was working longer hours each year without a clear reason why, and without feeling the business was growing in a way that made it worthwhile.

How We Helped

Over the Routine Wellbeing Review's five weeks, we mapped her actual working hours against her revenue patterns. We noticed several time-intensive activities that contributed little to income. We shared these observations and discussed alternatives — she decided which to change.

Outcome

She reduced her working hours by around six hours per week over the following two months without a material change in revenue. She described the main change as feeling "less like the business owns me." She later joined the Sustained Companion programme.

"I had stopped noticing how much time certain things were actually taking. Having someone else look at it was what I needed."

Case Study 02 — Food & Beverage

Challenge

A small restaurant owner in Tawau was managing three part-time staff, handling social media himself, and doing the accounting on weekends. He felt perpetually behind and had begun to find the business more draining than he expected when he started it four years ago.

How We Helped

The Balance Review session focused on understanding where his energy was going versus where it needed to go. We were honest that some of what he was carrying could reasonably be delegated or simplified. We outlined several options; he chose two that felt realistic given his budget.

Outcome

Within three months, he had trained one staff member to handle a portion of the social media, and had found a part-time bookkeeper through a local referral. He described having two weekends "back" as having a significant effect on how he felt about the business overall.

"The session made me realise I had built up habits that were actually optional. I had been treating everything as if I had to do it myself."
